The following guidelines and suggestions are the result of years of experience and are all dictated in the exclusive interest of the bride and groom, so that they can enjoy their wedding day in the most relaxed and comfortable way possible.

The purpose of reportage photography is to tell a story through a gallery of images, and it is created by the bride and groom and not by the photographers chosen for that day.

ADVICE ON STAGES OF PREPARATION FOR THE BRIDE & GROOM

For both:

  • We strongly recommend that friends and/or loved ones also get ready at the same time as the bride and groom, so that we can capture a more complete story.

  • All of the bride and groom's accessories (wedding rings, bouquet, shoes, earrings, bracelet, necklace, invitations, watch, necklaces, etc.) must be available at the bride and groom's home/room for use by the operators.

  • The rooms where the shoot will take place (mainly the bedroom and living room/lounge) in the bride and groom's homes must be cleared of any objects not relevant to the rooms themselves (e.g., boxes behind and on top of wardrobes, cardboard boxes). It is recommended that televisions, sofas, and armchairs be moved in front of and to the sides of curtains, if present.

  • Family members—especially uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends of the parents—may only be present in the home approximately half an hour after the photographers arrive at the groom's home and one hour after they arrive at the bride's home.

  • It is strongly recommended that close relatives (parents, brothers/sisters, brothers-in-law/sisters-in-law, nephews/nieces) be present in the house/hotel so that souvenir photos can be taken. Otherwise, they will be taken at the venue during lunch/dinner.

For the GROOM:

  • When the operators arrive, the groom should be wearing only his shoes and suit trousers.

  • Practice tying your tie, or make sure that at least one of your witnesses or those accompanying you knows how to do it.

  • Always keep your pockets empty (no phones, wallets, or bulky items).

  • The boutonniere, with a pin or magnet, should always be placed high on the lapel of the jacket.

For the BRIDE:

  • The beautician and hairdresser must strictly adhere to the time of arrival of the operators at the bride's home. They must work on the bride first and have completed 80% of their work.

  • We strongly recommend a hairstyle that is as natural as possible and reflects everyday life.

  • When the operators arrive, the bride should be wearing a dressing gown and her engagement or promise ring.

  • We strongly recommend a pair of replacement shoes, already in your possession, to be used mainly during outdoor activities and lunch/dinner.

  • Remove the bouquet from the water at least half an hour before putting on the dress to prevent it from dripping.

  • Once you have picked up the bouquet, it is essential to always hold it facing downwards, especially when leaving the church with the groom.

  • Strategically placed handkerchiefs are a must. One in the bouquet, one in the groom's pocket, and one for the maid of honor.

  • SOS bride kit (band-aids, needle and thread, sanitary pads, mini perfume, wipes, hairpins, and deodorant) should NOT be left at home.

ENTRANCE TO THE CHURCH/CEREMONY + POSITIONING OF FLORAL DECORATIONS

  • If there are bridesmaids/pageboys, entry will be staggered.

  • First, the bridesmaids/pageboys will enter and walk the entire length of the aisle.

  • Then the bride will enter, guided by one of the staff members.

In order to facilitate the photo reportage service, we recommend following the image below:

PHOTOGRAPHS AND FILMING DURING THE DAY

  • Spend as much time as possible with your partner during the day. It will be over in a flash!

  • Only close relatives (parents, brothers/sisters, brothers-in-law/sisters-in-law, nephews/nieces, grandparents) are guaranteed to be present in the photo shoot. In the interest of the bride and groom, they themselves will identify the family members mentioned to the operators.

  • If the bride and groom want all the guests to be in the photos, group photos will need to be taken. In this case, in agreement with the venue hosting the reception, a location will be identified where the bride and groom will take souvenir photos with all the guests.

CAKE, GIFTS, WEDDING WITNESSES, BOUQUET THROW

  • When the cake is cut, photographs will be taken of the bride and groom with only their parents, witnesses, brothers and sisters with their partners, children, and grandparents. Once the cake has been cut, any gifts for the witnesses will be handed out without moving from the place where the cake is located.

  • Unusual request - not mandatory, of course - made by my wife, who would be delighted to receive your wedding favors, as she is a serial collector. 😅
